I don’t have a newsletter, so this will have to suffice. And I don’t post often nowadays, so you probably won’t be bombarded with alerts.

If you stopped keeping updated on book stuff in 2020, this blog series is for you. A list, organised by month, of 2020 book releases. Get Macroing

Read Gabrielle Lord’s Shattered, which was good. However, there were newsletter blurbs on the book’s cover. No problem with that. Except that the Sun-Herald (from Sydney?) blurbed something along the lines of: One of the countries best crime writers. No, they didn’t bold it – I did to point out the mistake. Who do I blame – the Sun-Herald or Hachette (the book’s publisher)? Should I bother contacting Hachette about the mistake, or would they already be bombarded with emails? What should I do?

So I photographed Manny with a recently acquired cover flat yesterday, planning to make an urban fantasy cat macro. (Check my Facebook to see what I did with Rachel Vincent’s Stray and Jeaniene Frost’s Halfway to the Grave.)

First problem: Couldn’t find the cord that connects the camera to the PC. The Patriarch found it for me later, and the photos have since been uploaded to the PC, and my Photobucket.

Second problem: The new PC doesn’t have PhotoShop, so I can’t make the images smaller, or put in text.

Here’s where you come in: You have two photos to choose from – same cover flat, different posing. Get them from here and here. Resize them to your liking. Add text (I suggest a teal colour to go with the book). I personally would like one (with cat in front, flat in back) to read: in ma dreemz i iz werecat 😉 Or come up with your own LOL-cat text. Keep it PG, people.

Yes, I know Manny appears near-sleep – it’s the only way I can photograph him. Unless he’s facing away from the camera. He’s difficult.

I’ve got no prizes to give away, except I’ll give you full credit and post your efforts on my LJ, MySpace, BlogSpot, Facebook and the Urban Fantasy Fan community. I may or may not alert the author of the book’s cover flat, but I might send her a link when I’ve uploaded your efforts.

Happy macroing! 🙂
