[COVER ART] Thorn Queen (US) – Richelle Mead

US cover art for Richelle Mead’s Thorn Queen. Um, I don’t know much about anything everything geographical features, so is Eugenie standing on water or sand. Are castles usually surrounded by water or sand? And where is this scene supposed to be set? (Sorry, I haven’t got around to reading Storm Born yet.) I know I ask stupid questions, but if I don’t ask, I won’t learn 😉

  1. Hmmm. I haven’t read the novels, and before I read your question, I stared wondering if that’s sand that looks like water because of the tint, or water that looks like sand because of the shape of the gentle waves. Hmmm..

While there aren’t a lot of castles surrounded by sand in this reality, I can imagine that the Crusades left a few. And it may well not be set in this reality.

I’m totally not helpful. I’d better get back to fiction.

  2. Read Storm Queen . . . all will be explained. I would tell you the answers but then there would be spoilers involved and that is just not kosher.

P.S. Got your postcard, actually my husband did and I’ll be able to read it when I get home tonight.

  3. and by Storm Queen, I meant Storm Born.

  4. I haven’t read these yet, but it definitely looks like sand. 🙂 Maybe it’s quick sand!

  5. When you’re in the land of fairy, does it have to make sense? ; )

  6. Or it could be a snowscape, which would be really silly considering what she’s wearing. 😉

    I have no idea.
