[COVER ART] Seraphs – Faith Hunter; New Books & The Rebels of Romance Team Up with Eve Kenin

July 19, 2008 · 4 Comments

Amazon.com wouldn’t work for me properly last night, but Amazon.co.uk did. Thus I found the cover art for the mass market re-issue of Faith Hunter’s Seraphs. Pre-order.

I also found:

CHARLAINE HARRIS – Cruel and Unusual – 1 Jan 2009 (which they list as a Sookie book, though they usually have Dead in the title)
JOAN RIVERS & JERRILYN FARMER – Murder at the Academy Awards – 3 Feb 2009 (which explains why Jez’s Desperately Seeking Sushi was pushed back – to make way for this)

Liz Maverick and Marianne Mancusi (along with Eve Kenin) are in professional mode discussing how their SHOMI books came about, and why the Rebels of Romance brand was created: here. (Scroll down – I tried embed the videos, but their server doesn’t work with WordPress.)

I got my Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance in! Yay. I’m looking forward to reading it but not looking forward to all the duplicate copies of books (that one included) that I’ll have to buy for my sisters after the 29th. Agh! There are so many coming out here that day.

You special lass! :-) The editor said she’s coming to Melbourne in January, and hopefully I can persuade her to bring a copy, then ;-)

Until then, enjoy it for the both of us…and tell your sisters to buy their own books ;-)

    Have a lovely day! :-)

When you get back onto the main Amazon store I’d be curious to see book cover comparisons. I always wish I could pick which cover art I could have on my book – I’d choose the UK art at least half the time. Do you know of an Urban Fantasy cover art book? I’d shell out for that, for sure!

With Faith Hunter’s trilogy, I prefer these mass market covers (though I’ve only seen the first two). The trade ones just didn’t have…I don’t know, they just don’t appeal to me. Mind you, I have Bloodring and Seraphs as trades, because that’s what I could find on eBay Australia. And I was going to move them up my To-Be-Read pile in honour of the re-release, but since I don’t have Host…I’m going to be left dangling, so maybe I’ll save them for later…

I will say that for Keri Arthur’s Riley Jenson series, I prefer the US covers, even though theey like a bit porny. But the UK ones look…cheap and obviously PhotoShopped.

However, Keri’s backlist (published in the US by ImaJinn) is being published in the UK, and these UK covers are much better. Considering that ImaJinn is a small press, it makes sense that their covers aren’t as good…

    Have a lovely day! :-)
